Foreign Ministers of Guatemala and Cuba Hold Official Talks.
Upon welcoming the distinguished guest, the Cuban minister expressed his satisfaction over the second visit to the Island by his Guatemalan counterpart and underlined the good state of relations between Guatemala and Cuba. For his part, H.E. Mr. Roger Haroldo Rodas Melgar conveyed his government’s willingness to work towards deepening and broadening bilateral links and recognized the selfless contribution of the Cuban cooperation, in particular in healthcare and education, to the development and well-being of his country. Minister Bruno reiterated the high priority Cuba attaches to strengthening its relations with Latin American and Caribbean peoples and governments, to whom it is bonded by traditional ties of friendship. Likewise, he thanked Guatemala's support to our struggle to lift the unjust 50-year-old blockade imposed by the United States against the Island. Both Foreign Ministers discussed other issues of interest of the regional and international agenda. The distinguished guest was accompanied by H.E. Mr. Carlos Raul Morales, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs; H.E. Mr. Herbert Estuardo Meneses Coronado, Ambassador of the Republic of Guatemala to Cuba and H.E. Mr. Marco Tulia Chicas, Director General in charge of bilateral relations. On the Cuban side, also attended the meeting, Mr. Rogelio Sierra Diaz, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and other Foreign Ministry officers. (Cubaminrex) |
