More Nicaraguans will Study Medicine in Cuba
CUBA, March 28th, 2011.- Another group of young Nicaraguans will arrive in this capital on Saturday to study at the Latin American Medical School (ELAM).
The 17 women and 13 men were selected from the 70 high school graduates with the best academic record, coming from families of scarce economic resources and living in various
localities of the country. Along with their parents, they participated in a meeting with the officials of the Nicaraguan Youth Institute, where they received information on the characteristics of the scholarship and the Caribbean island where they will stay for the next five years.
Once graduated, they will return to Nicaragua to be trained for another two years as specialists in Integral General Medicine, with the help of Cuban professors now offering their services in that nation. (Cubaminrex-RHC) |
