Peruvians Demand Freedom for the Cuban Five
PERU, March 28, 2011.- Groups of solidarity with Cuba demanded on Sunday outside the Residence of U.S. Ambassador in Lima, Rose Likins, the release of five Cuban antiterrorist fighters imprisoned in US jails on fake charges.
The demonstrators marched through the main avenues of the Peruvian capital up to Washington Square, in front of the diplomat’s residence, in this rally organized by the Youth Committee of Solidarity with the Cuban Five.
The participants displayed colorful posters with photos of René González, Fernando González, Ramón Labañino, Antonio Guerrero and Gerardo Hernandez, the Cuban Five, and launched slogans calling for their freedom and against the U.S. blockade against Cuba. (Cubaminrex-RHC)
