Antigua & Barbuda PM Thanks Cuba for its Solidarity By Juan Leandro During a visit to Havana’s Latin American Medical School (ELAM), the PM thanked Cuba for the help it has given to his country and to other nations in Africa, Latin America and the Caribbean, as well as for its solidarity. The Deputy Minister for Teaching and Research of the Public Health Ministry, Roberto Gonzalez, explained to the distinguished visitor that over 20,000 students from about 100 countries are now trained at the island’s medical universities. From the beginning of this cooperation, 116 youngsters from Antigua and Barbuda have graduated as professionals from Cuban higher educational centers, 16 of them in the specialty of Medicine. At present there are 157 scholarship holders from that country studying in Cuba, 50 of them to become health professionals. (Cubaminrex-ACN)
