By Eva Barajas
CUBA, May 16, 2011.- Cuban officials attending bicentennial celebrations in Paraguay met with Cubans stationed in that country. The encounter took place at the Cuban Embassy in Asunción where Cuban Vice-president Gladys Bejerano noted the attention Cuban collaborators have received from Salvadorian President Fernando Lugo, which reflects their respect for the Cuban people and its Revolution. Cuban Ambassador to Paraguay Rolando Gomez mentioned that Cubans in El Salvador work in areas of public health, education, sports and the sugar cane industry. Gómez recalled that as part of the Eye Care Operation Miracle, Cuban doctors have performed about 12,000 eye surgeries in Paraguay. (Cubaminrex-RHC)
