Ricardo Alarcón heads Cuban delegation to Sao Paulo Forum

CUBA, May 18, 2011.- Cuban Parliament President, Ricardo Alarcon, arrived Tuesday in Nicaragua as head of Cuba’s delegation to the 17th Social Forum of Sao Paulo.

The Cuban delegation was welcomed at the international airport of the Nicaraguan capital by the president of the Parliament of that country Rene Nuñez Tellez and Cuban ambassador Eduardo Martinez Borbonet. 

Alarcon de Quesada said -in statements to the press- to be very pleased to return to Nicaraguaand observe that the country is progressing, and added that he was glad to see how the spirit and revolutionary action of Sandino and Carlos Fonseca still live in the Nicaraguan people.

Regarding the 17th Sao Paulo Forum starting this Wednesday, Alarcon de Quesada said it will be an opportunity to exchange experiences and ideas, and to join forces, which he said was currently the most important thing. 

During his visit to Nicaragua, Alarcon de Quesada will hold talks with Nuñez Tellez and will participate in meetings with members of the Nicaragua-Cuba Parliamentary Friendship Group.

He will also meet with members of the national committee for the freedom of the five Cuban antiterrorist fighters who have been imprisoned for 13 years in the U.S. (Cubaminrex-RHC)
