Barbados Reaches Cuban Musical Repertoire in the Hands of a Member of the Cuban Community
BARBADOS, November 15, 2011.- With a very good acceptance of the public, the young performer Evelin Calnick, a member of the Association of Cuban Residents in Barbados, made her first appearance at the local piano circuit.
In the context of "Pianofest", a kind of national festival that brings together the national piano players, Evelin brought anthology pieces by masters such as Ernesto Lecuona.
With the presence of the Cuban Embassy here Lissette Perez and members of the diplomatic delegation of the island, with obvious mastery Evelin toured which included pieces like "La Comparsa" and "Damisela Encantodara," which drew applause.
The President of the Association of Barbados piano Enforcers, praised the the Cuban Ambassador presence and recalled that Cuban music always brought joy to the Caribbean and also diversity which gives the ring undisputed in the history of regional culture. (Cubaminrex/ Embacuba Barbados)
