Jamaican TV Airs Debate Held at Parliament on the Issue of the Unjust U.S Blockade against Cuba JAMAICA, October 18, 2011.- Last Tuesday, 18th October, the government-owned TV network the “Public Broadcasting Corporation of Jamaica” (PBCJ) aired live, from 4:50-6:00 p.m. the debate held within the framework of the session of the Chamber of Representatives of Jamaica on the unjust and illegal blockade imposed by the U.S. against Cuba for fifty years. The initiative took place just one week from the vote at the 66th session of the U.N. General Assembly of the draft resolution entitled “Need to put an end to the economic, commercial and financial blockade of the United States against Cuba”. The coverage given by PBCJ channel included the moment when, after the aforesaid debate was over, a text of the resolution (motion) that calls into question that unjust and illegal extraterritorial policy applied by successive North-American administrations, was voted and endorsed During the broadcast, images of the presence in the hall, as a guest, of Cuban Ambassador Yuri Gala Lopez, were shown.
