Peruvian Vice President Highlights Latin American integration

HAVANA, October 5th, 2011.-  The First Vice President of Peru, Marisol Espinoza, highlighted the importance of the relations between her country and Cuba, within the context of the current integration in Latin America.

After laying a wreath in the Jose Marti Memorial in the Revolution Square, Espinoza declared the interest to strengthen cooperation with Cuba in areas such as education, sports and biotechnology.

Espinoza stated that having Cuba´s experience in the health sector, one of the main purposes  is to renew the contracts signed with previous governments.

The Peruvian Vice President refered also to the position of the Peruvian Government against United States Blockade against Cuba.

“Unity is very important to us, that´s why our President, Ollanta Humala, is very active in this sense”, she added while recalling the campaign developed in her country for the liberation of the Cuban Five.

Cuban Vice minister of Foreign Affairs Rogelio Sierra, as well as other Cuban officials, were acompanying the delegation. (Cubaminrex)
