Lao Press Highlights the Cuban Communist Party National Conference

conferencia-ene28-3LAOS, January 31, 2012.- The newspaper KPL News, organ of the national news agency of Laos published two articles reporting the celebration of the National Conference of the Communist Party of Cuba. 

The article on the English newspaper referred to the final speech made by Raul Castro, First Secretary of the Central Committee of the CPC, citing his call for political term limits and the fight against corruption in Cuba.
The information added that addressing to more than 800 delegates at the end of the national conference, the Cuban leader reassured that the government would continue a "ceaseless fight" against corruption.
"To win the battle against corruption, we should first stop it and then shatter it without any hesitation," he said, adding that the government would disclose details about any cases under investigation.
In his closing speech, Raul Castro slammed the "brutal U.S. campaigns" against Cuba, stressing that they would not affect the Revolution or the Cuban people "who will continue to perfect socialism."
The report of the Lao newspaper makes special mention to the words of President Raul Castro when he said that “the Cuban Communist Party would continue as the only recognized political party in the country”.
"Cuba will never renounce its single political party policy, as imperialism pretends, because that decision will lead to the defeat of the Revolution and will sacrifice people's unity", and continues "We have chosen, with the participation and support of the Cuban people, to follow the one-party option."
The French language version of KPL newspaper also highlights the conclusion of the Cuban party national conference and the speech of its First Secretary, Raul Castro Ruz. (Cubaminrex/ Embacuba Laos)
