Struggle against the Powerful.

By Néstor Núñez
HAVANA, 10 June 2011.- Cuba has once again demanded before the UN Human Rights Council in Geneva
the peaceful solutions to world conflicts and respect to the self determination of the nations.

According to the Cuban representation, we are dealing with principles that are ignored in several parts of the world, mainly in northern Africa as a consequence of the military aggressions and intervention by those that
attempt to impose its mandate on humanity.

It is a call in which Cuba and other progressive countries have reiterated in international forums and are valid precisely when these totalitarian aggressions carried out by the empire turns into an act of force violating
the integrity of other nations inflicting death and destruction.

Cuba makes the call not only as an elemental gesture of solidarity and respect in compliance with international norms, but due to its own experience of attacks and aggressions by the powerful nation to the north. But this condemnation and call is also urgent for the survival of humanity.

It is clear that among the current tactics by Washington and allies are the manipulation or deceiving the restrictions and international law in order to make its only “rules and regulations” imposed on our civilization.

In fact, there are decisions to be taken at the anti democratic UN Security Council currently being pressured to bomb Libya or attempts to apply a similar war formula as the case in Syria.

We are dealing with the same tactics which divided Yugoslavia or what initiated the so called anti terrorist aggressions against Afghanistan and Iraq, which by the way have not come to an end despite promises by the
current US administration.

When Cuba raises its voice alongside other nations to face the risks derived by the hegemonic and unilateral tendencies of the empire it does so also defending one of the most elemental rights of humanity: self determination without any type of impositions from abroad.

It is evident that it is not beneficial to humanity if each of its decisions, ideas, motivations or acts be submitted to the will of a group of powers that believe that its interests constitute the absolute law and if disobeyed receive the most brutal punishment.  (Cubaminrex-ACN)
