Second ELAM Graduates Group Arrives in Haiti

HAITI, February 12, 2010. A second group of graduates from the Latin-American School of Medicine (ELAM) arrived this Thursday in this city as part of the Henri Reeve Medical Brigade.

The 50-member strong contingent was sent to Leogane, a city 30 kilometers West of the capital city, which was also devastated by the January 12 earthquake.

The first group had arrived this Wednesday, and was sent to Croix des Bouquets, in the West Department.

This hundred doctors, as well as those arriving in the next days, has as their job to spread the number of first-aid healthcare facilities, as part of the strategy set by the Cuban Medical Brigade already working in the Caribbean nation.( Cubaminrex- ACN)
