8,000 Bolivians Graduate from Cuban Post-Literacy Program
CUBA, July 20, 2010.- More than 8,000 Bolivians have graduated from the Cuban Post-Literacy program called ¨Yo Si Puedo Seguir,¨ or ¨Yes I Can Continue.¨ The graduates received certificates in recognition of achieving 2nd grade reading levels in the nine departments in Bolivia.
Benito Ayma, the director of the project in Bolivia, explained that the participants passed the math, Spanish, geography, history, and natural sciences courses.
¨Yo Si Puedo Seguir¨ is geared towards recently literate people and people over 15 years old who did not have access to elementary school education, with the objective of giving them an integral education equivalent to a sixth grade level. (Cubaminrex-RHC)
