Che Guevara honoured in Mpumalanga

South Africa. February 25, 2010. - Blade Nzimande, Secretary-General of the South African Communist Party and Minister of Higher Education, attended an event organized by the province of Mpumalanga to celebrate the life and legacy of Ernesto Che Guevara.

A group of Cuban technical advisors in the province were present at that occasion and Dr Elpidio López Galindo addressed the guests on behalf of all Cubans working in RSA. Dr López acknowledged the South African initiative to honor Che, as well as the traditional solidarity of the people and Government of South Africa with Cuba.

At present, 16 Cuban professionals are working at Mpumalanga province, 9 for health, 6 for construction and 1 professor for social and community work. (Cubaminrex – EmbaCuba Sudáfrica)
