Cuba and Senegal Increase Sporting Links

CUBA, December 9th, 2010.- Faustin Diatta, Senegal's sports minister, has arrived in Cuba to sign the first agreement of bilateral cooperation in this field.

Alberto Juantorena, vice president of the National Institute of Sports, Physical Education and Recreation (INDER) welcomed him at the Jose Marti International Airport, AIN reported.

During his stay, which ends tomorrow, Diatta will hold talks with leaders of INDER and the National Committee of the Communist Youth Union, and will tour schools and sports institutions.

A young Senegalese student is at the International School of Physical Education and Sports located in the Havana municipality of San José de las Lajas, where three have already graduated. There is also a Cuban athletics coach in that country.

Senegal is situated in West Africa, bordered on the north by Mauritania, east by Mali, on the south by Guinea and Guinea-Bissau, and west by the Atlantic Ocean. (Cubaminrex-Granma)
