Nicaraguan Doctors Graduated In Cuba Carry out Popular Consultations.
CUBA, 22nd, December 2010.- A group of 50 Nicaraguan doctors graduated in Cuba are carrying out a popular consultation in Managua, the capital city of Nicaragua.
According to Prensa Latina news agency, these physicians have placed several tables on the sidewalks, doorways, and on the living rooms of some houses, and assist more than 60 people per day.
An official from the Health Ministry, Mireya Suarez, told ACN that these doctors are keeping the promise they made when they entered the Latin American School of Medicine in Cuba.
On Tuesday, they assisted more than 1 300 people from the Jorge Dimitrov, Jonathan Gonzalez, Ruben Dario and Los Martinez neighborhoods in Managua.
They offered services on pediatrics, cardiology, gynecology, internal and general medicine, and ophthalmology. They vaccinated more than 400 people against different diseases and gave educational talks to avoid diarrhea and dengue.
Doctor Felix Sanchez noted that these professionals intend to do the same in other neighborhoods in conjunction with the Sandinista Medical Movement to restore gradually the right of the Nicaraguan people to health care services.
Sanchez added that these doctors have a different training from the technical and scientific viewpoints. He said that they are humanitarian doctors with a high scientific level engaged with the solidarity they received in Cuba. (Cubaminrex- Cuban News Agency)
