A leading Jamaican newspaper highlights cooperation Cuba offers Jamaica and other Caribbean nations.

JAMAICA, December 31, 2010.-  The leading Jamaican newspaper The Observer, distributed nationwide, published this Friday an article based on an exclusive interview granted by Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez Parrilla on the occasion of his recent official visit to Jamaica (12-14 December).
This article highlights the achievements of the Miracle Operation Project, placing special emphasis on the successes accomplished by the Ophthalmology Centre, opened in Kingston in January 2010 and the potentialities for this center to become a regional facility. The article offers numerous statistics on the cooperation Cuba has been offering Jamaica and other Caribbean countries, mainly in the fields of health and human resources development.

Cuba’s cooperation in Haiti throughout the years is also highlighted, especially after the earthquake, and special emphasis is placed on the work the Cuban medical brigade is carrying out in Haiti, including the medical care given to the cholera-infected patients.
