Bolivian Government Reiterates Gratitude to Cuba and Venezuela for Their Support.

CUBA, 15 March 2011.- The Bolivian Vice President, Alvaro Garcia, reaffirmed the gratitude of the Bolivian government for Cuba’s and Venezuela’s unconditional support of his country.

According to Prensa Latina news agency, Garcia pointed out, during a press conference in La Paz, that thanks to the Cuban and Venezuelan cooperation and to the “Yes, I Can” literacy method, Bolivia became a nation free from illiteracy since 2008.

He added that more than 576,000 fellow citizens recovered or improved their sight as a result of the “Operacion Milagro” free eye-care program with the support of these two nations.

The Bolivian Vice President also praised the support of Venezuela in terms of financial resources used to back up projects to build roads and other initiatives.

Garcia compared this attitude with that of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), which tries to subvert the Bolivian society and to meddle in the domestic affairs in an effort to obstruct the ongoing process of social transformations carried out by the administration of Evo Morales.
