Paraguayan Government Appreciative of Cuban Program.
PARAGUAY, March 2nd, 2011.- On behalf of the Paraguayan people, historian Domingo Laíno expressed appreciation for the possibility that young people are able to study medicine on the island.
More than 600 low-income young Paraguayans have graduated as physicians and health specialists and 700 are still studying.
Paraguayan President Fernando Lugo and Cuba’s ambassador to Asunción, Rolando Gómez, attended the meeting, where Cuban historian Sergio Guerra spoke about the significance of Paraguay’s independence for the region. (Cubaminrex-RHC)
