Cuban Artists Continue Contributing to Social Programs in Venezuela.
CUBA, April 21th, 2011.- More than 100 Cuban artists, in representation of the 1,300 that make up the Cultural Mission ‘Corazon Adentro’ in Venezuela, are taking part in the Second National Scientific Festival of this group.
According to Juventud Rebelde newspaper, the event is also attended by Venezuelan artists and Cuban delegates will offer 45 lectures on their contribution to the ongoing social transformations in Venezuela.
Professor Alfredo Lima Pelaez offered a lecture during the opening session of the event in which participants are exchanging experiences of their work over the last three years as part of this project that is being conducted in five Venezuelan states.
Lima Pelaez talked about the work of the 1,300 members of this cultural program in schools, community houses, libraries, parks, theaters, open places, shelters, and even in jails, in order to shape values.
According to the website of the Ministry of the People’s Power for Communication and Information of Venezuela, this program, created in April, 2008 at the initiative of President Hugo Chavez Frias, is based in community projects that take into account the cultural needs of the communities.
This program includes art instructors, singers, theater and circus artists, and plastic artists, among others, who work with children and youngsters that had never seen a theater play or an artistic show before.
