Regional Project for Audiovisual Training Centers Efforts of the ALBA.

CUBA, April 18, 2011.- The Cultural Fund of the Bolivarian Alliance for The Americas (ALBA) is working on the creation of a traveling regional program for audiovisual training, according to information released by the organization’s headquarters in Venezuela.

According to the communiqué, the initiative’s objective is to carry out workshops in the ALBA member countries as well as in others, in order to train persons that would be in charge of promoting in their communities what they have learned, thus contributing to preserve traditions and Latin American and Caribbean identity, the Prensa Latina news agency reported.

A first meeting took place at the end of March in Santa Cruz, Bolivia, where producers from Cuba, Ecuador, Venezuela and Paraguay shared their experiences with urban and rural professors and cultural promoters from the entire Andean nation, who became familiar with audiovisual reading and writing.

This workshop included a stage of editing, taking materials prepared by participants as a starting point, specified the Cultural Fund of the Alliance, made up by Antigua and Barbuda, Bolivia, Cuba, Dominica, Ecuador, Nicaragua, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines and Venezuela.

The initiative goes beyond the bloc founded in December, 2004, which was evidenced by the presence of Paraguayan specialists in Bolivia.

In addition to the audiovisual subject, the ALBA promotes around 50 projects of music, dance, literature, human resources and infrastructure, aimed at boosting regional integration. (Cubaminrex-AIN)
