Fidel Castro: "Intelligence and courage must go down the path that leads to victory"

CUBA, September 28th, 2010.-  Cuban Revolution leader, Fidel Castro, when addressing the main event for the 50th Anniversary of the creation of the CDRs (Committees for the Defense of the Revolution), recalled the difficult circumstances in which was created the largest mass organization in the country, that has more than seven million members.

He also stated that intelligence and courage must go along with brains and heart down the victory path.

He recalled the enemy's attempts to destabilize the Revolution since its triumph, and stressed that from the very beginning the Cuban people has been prepared to resist whatever comes or drops, even if it is an atomic bomb.

The revolutionary leader highlighted the privilege that is to get together once again in front of the former Presidential Palace of Havana, the same place where the CDRs were created 50 years ago.

"The immense majority of you had not yet been born; the rest were no more than 30 years old, and very few were as old as I am now," Fidel Castro said, noting that he was envious of the youth present at the rally, which was broadcast live on television and radio.

In his speech before more than 20 000 "cederistas" (as the members of the CDRs are known) Fidel Castro drew attention to what a small country with so many obstacles and shortages is capable of. (Cubaminrex - RHC)
