Fidel Castro

Book with Fidel’s Reflections Published in Japanese.

CUBA, February 10th, 2011.- The information sent from Tokyo that 22 reflections by the leader of the Cuban Revolution have been translated into Japanese for the book “Fidel dice” (Fidel Says) has had great impact in many Web sites, including Cubadebate.

The book by the Japanese publishing house Seidosha, was presented by the Cuban legation in that capital by ambassador Jose Fernandez de Cossio, who highlighted that this is the first time that the reflections by Commander in Chief Fidel Castro are published in the form of a book in the Asian nation.

With subjects ranging from politics to sports, published by the Cuban press from 2009 to September, 2010, the compilation includes, among others, commentaries on the left-wing movements and on the presidents of Venezuela, Hugo Chavez, and Bolivia, Evo Morales.

It also reflects Fidel’s anti-imperialist vision and his criticisms against the United States, and includes his reflections on the environment and the origins of contemporary wars, explained the ambassador.

Maiko Imaoka, representative of the Japanese publishing house, highlighted that, beyond Japan’s traditional vision of the Caribbean island, the book reflects Cuba’s stance with respect to globalization in today’s world.

Likewise, he underlined that “Fidel dice” includes commentaries on baseball –a popular sport in Cuba and Japan-, and also a denunciation on the bombs dropped by the United States in the Japanese cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, at the end of World War II. (Cubaminrex-Cuban News Agency)
