Interview of the Cuban Ambassador in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Olga Chamero Trias, in relation with the events in Honduras

SAINT VINCENT AND THE GRENADINES, July 1st, 2009. The Cuban Ambassador in Saint Vincent and The Grenadines, Olga Chamero Trias, gave an interview to the TV Agency , API that was broadcasted partially on the News of the Day, and it will be broadcasted again on Thursday the 2nd of July, on an special program of that agency.

The Cuban Ambassador explained in details the antecedents of the Coup D’état in Honduras, also the national and international reaction it provoked, emphasizing on the political and juridical consequences of it, and the fact that it tries to bring to Central, Latin American and the Caribbean to an epoch already overcome by more than twenty five years of democracy. She also mentioned the condemnation of the Coup D’état , by the Meetings of the ALBA Group, of the Rio Group and of the Central American System, SICA, in Nicaragua last Sunday. The ambassador also referred to the fact that the Secretary General of the United Nations condemned de Coup D’état, the Non Aligned Movement and numerous international organizations. She informed that president Zelaya was preparing his trip to return to Honduras next Thursday, accompany by the Secretary General of the OEA, Mr Inzulsa.

The Cuban diplomat finished her address asking for Solidarity with the Honduran people that is today on the streets, fighting for the return of their president and the democracy. (Cubaminrex- Embacuba Saint Vincent and the Grenadines)
