
Seminar for the Abolition of Foreign Military Bases Begins in Guantánamo
CUBA, May 4, 2010.).- Representatives from more than a dozen countries will participate in the Peace Seminar for the Abolition of Foreign Military Bases, which began meeting on Tuesday in the eastern Cuban province of Guantanamo, where the U.S. government has installed one of their illegal enclaves.
Sponsored by the Cuban Movement for Peace and Sovereignty of Peoples, and the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples (ICAP), the meeting will last two days in the halls of the Revolution Square Mariana Grajales in Guantánamo.
The delegate from ICAP in Guantánamo, Ana Teresa Disotuar Naples, said the seminar will provide an ideal setting to continue joining forces in the international struggle for the elimination of unjust and illegitimate military bases.
She noted that among the personalities who will be attending the event are Brazilian Maria Socorro Gomes, president of the World Peace Council and youth delegates from several nations studying in this eastern province. (Cubaminrex- RHC)
