European House Joins Anti-Cuba Campaign

CUBA, Mar 12, 2010. -  The anti-Cuba resolution the European Parliament just passed has directly lined up that institution with the fierce political and media campaign currently developed against Cuba, with the intention of fabricating patriots within mercenaries and criminals in the subversion attempt to overthrow the constitutional order established by our revolutionary people for 52 years.

What has happened in Strasburg can be rated as another episode of the current move which, using the mainstream media and organizations controlled by the most reactionary sectors, intend to take advantage of the lamentable death of a common prisoner on prolonged hunger strike and later recruited by counterrevolutionary factions, to confuse the international public opinion.

The initiative, encouraged by the European rightwing in parliament, managed to draw different political legislative groups, thus evidencing the convergence of rightist and reactionary stances, regardless of names and classifications.

For that debate it was used the so much stale issue of "the situation of political prisoners and prisoners of conscience in Cuba" in the anti-Cuba drive.

The only objective was to condemn the Cuban government and people, who are truly facing a violation of their rights with the long US blockade and interference in their internal affairs even by the European Union itself.

During the debate, and in their attempts to reach their positions, the Eurodeputies did not hesitate to present the overused arguments traditionally used by the US to question, in an interfering way, our political system.

It is deplorable the European Parliament blatantly includes in its resolution the very essence of the "Common Position," without even having the integrity of mentioning it.

The resolution adopted by the European House "urges European institutions to unconditionally support and encourage political transition" in Cuba.

It openly calls for European governments to intensify subversive activities, and their embassies in Havana to get even more involved in projects financing mercenaries.

The resolution insolently demands that cooperation projects between the European Commission and Cuba are used with subversive purposes.

They are once again wrong about the Cuban people, whom they try to ill-treat by attempting to subdue our small island to singularized treatments.

What has occurred at the European Parliament plenary session will go down in history as a sign that European States still have a colonialist attitude. (Cubaminrex - Prensa Latina)
