CUBA, February 14, 2007.- The use of telecommunication technologies at the service of people focuses the International Convention "Informatica 2007," which continues sessions in this capital Wednesday.

Congresses, symposiums, workshops and exhibitions of products are simultaneously taking place in the meeting, whose main venue is at Havana s Conference Center.

Some of these encounters are held outside the premises of this capital s center, like the 2nd International Congress of Bioinformatics and Neuroinformatics, which takes place at the Molecular Immunology Center.

The 6th International Symposium on Tele-Education (TelEduc 2007) is also being run at the Palco Hotel, near the Conference Center.

The organization of Informatica 2007 and the development Cuba has reached in this sector was praised by Fabio Leite, assistant director of the Communication Radio Office at the International Telecommunications Union (ITU).

The official also talked of a future collaboration between Cuba and the ITU, saying the organization is available for helping the Cuban government develop telecommunications. (Cubminrex-PL)
