The Cuban Council of State Calls for the Constitution of Municipal Assemblies

CUBA, May 5, 2010. The Council of State of the Republic of Cuba has called for the constitution of the Municipal Assemblies of the People’s Power. Up next, the text of the call, published on Wednesday by Granma newspaper.

The Council of State of the Republic of Cuba, exercising the powers conferred by Article 90 of the Constitution of the Republic and in compliance with the provisions of Article 126 of Law No. 72 of 29 October 1992, Electoral Law, has stipulated, by the Agreement dated May 3, that the delegates elected in the elections held on 25 April, or the second or third round, form the People's Power municipal assemblies, meeting in their own right, proceed to constitute these assemblies on 19th May for another term of two and a half years.
