Cuban Professor of Medicine Awarded Brazilian Distinction

CUBA, Apr 15, 2010 .- Brazil’s Dr. Arthur Dominguez Pinto Distinction of Scientific Merit was awarded to Jose Emilio Fernandez Brito, Professor Emeritus with the Higher Institute of Medical Sciences of Havana and permanent member of the Cuban Academy of Sciences.

Fernandez Brito was awarded the distinction in Ciudad de Santos, in the Brazilian state of Sao Paulo, during the Seventh International Conference on Atherosclerosis and Cardiovascular Risk.

The University of Brazil sent an official notification to the Havana-based higher education center praising Dr. Fernandez Brito’s scientific and professional work, particularly in the area of atherosclerosis, and his contribution to the development of scientific exchange among Latin American researchers of this and other related fields.
