Alternative Media Influence in the Denounciation of the Cuban Five  Case

HAVANA, November 30, 2011.- A call for solidarity was made by Olga Salanueva, wife of René González, to the participants to the International Workshop  on Alternative Media and Social Networks. Salanueva also urged to use this platforms to increase the denounciations of Cuba against the unjust sentences imposed to the Cuban Five in the United States.

Details of the irregularities and distortions surrounding the legal process of René González, Antonio Guerrero, Fernando González, Ramón Labañino and Gerardo Hernández, were the center of the attention of participants who were also given an update on the issue.

 Salanueva added that the big international media will dedicate no space to Cuban denounciation, and that´s why they have the social networks and the alternative media to do so, and only with the support of the international solidarity they could achieve the return of their relatives to Cuba.

In its final statement, the International Workshop, that is in its closing session this afternoon, will mention the support to the cause of the Cuban Five case, in particular, the compromise to contribute to break the wall of silence built by the powerful international media. (Cubaminrex)
