National Center of Bio Products Keeps Up Its Production Pace.

CUBA, January 13th, 2011.- The National Center of Bio Products (BIOCEN) has produced more than 250 million vaccines and other medicines since its foundation 18 years ago in Bejucal, in the western Cuban province of Mayabeque.

This center, in cooperation with other institutions, produces vaccines such as the recombining anti-hepatitis B, the pentavalent, and others against hemophilia influenza and ticks, as well as transfer factors, interferon and Surfacen.

The quality of these products is certified by the international standard ISO 9000 and it is endorsed by the World Health Organization (WHO).

BIOCEN aims at increasing its production so as to meet the needs of the national health system and to boost exports. That’s why there is a new plant of vaccines under construction, which is scheduled to open around mid 2011.
