Cuba Foreign Minister Ratifies Revolution Solidity

CUBA, September 16, 2009. Cuba's Revolution is solid and unbeatable, with or without US trade and financial blockade, Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez ratified on Wednesday.

In a pres conference to present his country's report to the UN General Assembly about the need to end that policy, the foreign minister highlighted that Cuba would carry on, despite hindrances.

Despite the current international financial crisis, the US seizure that has resulted in a $96 billion along almost 50 years, the impact of climate change and other factors, our country will continue with its economic recovery, Rodriguez stated.

He criticized new US President Barack Obama's stance, maintaining intact "a genocidal, criminal, ethically unacceptable, failed and obsolete policy, exactly as his predecessors did."

Obama's arrival to the White House has not meant a change in practicing the blockade against Cuba, and the president has just reiterated Washington's stance, extending the law that maintains it, he said.

He asserted that Obama has extensive executive power to change that policy, changing dozens of resolutions and lifting restrictions.

The UN General Assembly members will vote on October 28 for the 18th consecutive time in favor or against the resolution to lift the blockade, which was supported the past year by 185 nations and only rejected by thee. (Cubaminrex- PL)
