Pioneers to March Alongside Workers at May Day Parade

CUBA, April 23, 2010. President of the Jose Marti Pioneers Organization (OPJM) Yamilé Ramos Cordero announced that young members of the organization will join their families in the marches organized for May 1, International Workers Day. Leading up to May Day, young pioneers across the island our taking part in school activities to decorate classrooms and honor teachers and other workers. Ramos Cordero also highlighted the role of pioneers in the upcoming April 25 elections, where in each polling station pioneers will symbolically guard the ballot boxes

President of the Jose Marti Pioneers Organization (OPJM) Yamilé Ramos Cordero announced that the more than 1.2 million members of the children organization will join their families in the marches organized for May 1, International Workers Day.

“The first of May is a day when we will reaffirm our commitment to the Cuban Revolution and confirm our mission to keep maintain a free Cuba,” said Ramos Cordero.
Leading up to May Day, young pioneers across the island our taking part in school activities to decorate classrooms and honor teachers and other workers.
Ramos Cordero also highlighted the role of pioneers in the upcoming April 25 elections, where in each polling station pioneers will symbolically guard the ballot boxes.
May Day is awaited by all Cubans with a sense of joy and commitment. Cuba is a country with dedicated workers whose children are their primary source of fulfillment, and the continuity of the revolutionary workers,” said Ramos Cordero.
