Silvio Rodríguez: “Cuba's future looks encouraging”
CYBA, 21st, December 2010.- Cuban singer Silvio Rodriguez hopefully described on Monday the future of Cuba following the last plenary session of the Cuban National Assembly and was very optimistic about the direction taken by the government and its economic plan.
"The Parliament has said what I would want to say," Rodriguez told reporters speaking on the last session of the Cuban National Assembly, which concluded last weekend.
The musician said that at this very moment, “given the domestic and international situation" it is necessary to plant our "feet firmly on the ground" and added: "I think this Parliament and Raul (Castro) are moving in that direction."
"That sounds encouraging," said Rodriguez, who was also deputy to the National Assembly for 10 years until 2007.
Silvio attended Monday to a press conference in Havana to announce the results of the “Ojalá Creation Awards” first edition, convened by the recording studios he created. (Cubaminrex-RHC)
