Cuba: Children’s Congress Concludes on Monday
CUBA, April 4, 2011.- The Fifth Pioneer Children Congress concludes in Havana on Monday coinciding with another anniversary of the foundation of the Young Communist League (UJC) and the Jose Marti Pioneer Children’s Organization.
Participants in the Congress, which began on Sunday, meet on Monday in a plenary session at the Ernesto Guevara Pioneer Children’s Central Palace in Havana to discuss topics such as their role in preserving the present and future of the Cuban Revolution.
In spite of the delegates’ young ages, the Congress debates, as well as the discussions prior to this meeting, have been guided by the importance of their task and the need to prepare for the future.
The event will conclude with a political-cultural gala at the Karl Marx Theater on Monday evening, which will also serve to mark the 50th anniversary of the foundation of the UJC and the 49th anniversary of the Jose Marti Pioneer Children’s Organization.
Buena Fe, Liuba Maria Hevia, Lidis Lamoru and the Lizt Alfonso Children’s Ballet are some of the artists that will perform during the gala. (Cubaminrex-AIN)
