Cubans Crowd Squares all over the Country on May Day.
CUBA, May 1, 2011.- Cubans filled streets and squares all over the country to celebrate the International Workers Day and reaffirm support for the Revolution.
In all the provinces a real human tide began the parade early in the morning flying national flags, placards and banners expressing the decision of backing socialism, the victories achieved and a rejection of US aggressions.
In Havana the education workers and students began the mass parade in front of tens of thousands of people that were gathered together at the Revolution Square under a main slogan: Socialism is and will be the Hope.
Imagen activa An important representation of the Cuban Communist Party (PCC) led by its second secretary Jose Ramon Machado Ventura, and by the Secretary General of the Cuban Workers Union Salvador Valdes. There were over 1,500 guests from 73 countries in the main platform.
The parade at Revolution Square, the main venue for demonstrations of support to the revolutionary government, was marked by big portraits of Commnaders Ernesto Che Guevara and Camilo Cienfuegos, and Cuban National Heroe Jose Marti.
The TV channel broadcast the transcendental demonstration of jubilation and patriotic enthusiasm of demonstrators that brought together in blocs representing their trade unions and labour sectors, who staged a colourful and enthusiastic demonstration.
Shortly before the traditional parade began in this capital, the TV channels broadcast the beginning of marches in Santiago de Cuba that counted with the presence of Cuban president Raul Castro and other leaders of the government and the PCC. (Cubaminrex-Prensa Latina)
