The National Council on Cultural Heritage (CNPC) from the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Cuba , is the official institution in charge of detail and state those items and assets which must belong to the Cultural Heritage of Cuba..

The aim of the CNPC is to protect, to retrieve, to preserve, to restore, to exhibit, to research and to spread cultural and natural heritage, as well as formation of qualified personnel in this subject.

The CNPC exerts its functions at a national level through Provincial Centers of Cultural Heritage, to which museums, Technical Teams of Monuments, and Provincial Records of Cultural Assets are joined. Its action range covers not only the institutional system of culture, but also to the rest of organisms and institutions having cultural heritage or requiring information, advisory and control, in Cuba and abroad.
