| Cuban Deputies Prep 2008 Economy CUBA, December 19, 2007.- Cuban deputies are to debate on the economic-social guideline projects and budget for 2008 in the 10th sessions of the Sixth National Assembly Legislature, to be run December 28. According to "Granma" newspaper, among issues are the end of 2007 in economy and budget execution. The 10 permanent working commissions of the National Assembly will meet at the capital's Conference Center December 26-27, to analyze the economic-social plan and budget of those spheres as of reports by leaders and officials from the Economy and Planning, and Finances and Prices Ministries. Also on the list is to analyze and approve tasks from 2003 to the present day, because this will be the Sixth Legislature's last period of sessions, the daily states. The Cuban Parliament is the State's supreme body, represents and expresses the people's will and is the only one with constituent and legislative authority in the country. (Cubaminrex-PL) |
