Vice President Esteban Lazo Heads Cuban Delegation to Summit on Climate Change

CUBA, December 15, 2009.- Cuban Vice President Esteban Lazo heads the island’s delegation to the 15th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change that begins on Wednesday in Copenhagen, Denmark.

Granma newspaper reports that the Cuban delegation is also comprised of Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez Parrilla and by the First Deputy Minister of Science, Technology and the Environment, Fernando Gonzalez.

This conference, which runs through Friday, is part of ongoing efforts by the international community to fight the effects of climate change, whose consequences affect mainly the underdeveloped nations. (Cubaminrex-AIN)
