Cuba Defends UN General Assembly’s Role as Main Forum to Discuss Economic and Financial Matters.

CUBA, March 5, 2011.- Cuba defended the role of the UN General Assembly as the main international forum to discuss economic and financial issues.

During a meeting of the Group of 77 and China, attended by UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon, Cuban permanent representative at the UN Pedro Núñez Mosquera said the UN General Assembly is the main forum to discuss such issues.

Mosquera said it is the only way to guarantee that the concerns expressed by Third World nations are taken into consideration and the interests of all UN member states are served.
