
Statement of Cuba on behalf of the Nam and China in 16 Conference of the Organization for the prohibition of chemical weapons.
NETHERLANDS, December 9, 2011.- The Ambassador of Cuba Zelmys Maria Domínguez Cortina delivered a speech on behalf of the Member States of the NAM that are States Parties to the Convention on Chemical Weapons and China, on 28 November, in the Hague, Netherlands, during the 16 Conference of States Parties of the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical weapons.
The Ambassador of Cuba expressed the positions of the Group on the main topics on the agenda of the Conference, emphasizing the need for disarmament and the destruction of all chemical weapons.
Among other things, she noted also the importance of the balance between the pillars of the Convention and the need to give the necessary importance to the assistance and cooperation within the framework of the organization. (Cubaminrex/Embacuba Netherlands)
