Strong condemnation of the blockade imposed by the government of the United States against Cuba at the United Nations.
The issue of the blockade against Cuba became one of the top five topics mentioned at the Plenary of the United Nations General Assembly, when a considerable number of countries of all world regions made critical references to that absurd policy maintained by the Government of the United States of America against the island, in the framework of the opening General Debate of the 65th Session of the General Assembly, held last 23-29 September, in New York.
All high dignitaries who, as representatives of the delegations of their Governments, referred to the matter, agreed that the unilateral economic, commercial and financial blockade against Cuba cannot be at all justified. Likewise, all of them made a strong call for the current Government of the United States of America to immediately end such an irrational policy.
These statements join the increasingly widespread international rejection caused by the blockade against Cuba, and the voices ever more numerous that worldwide, including the very United States, clamor for its immediate and definitive lifting.
The gestures of support and solidarity to Cuba also included words of gratitude for the Cuban cooperation in various parts of the world, as well as calls for the release of the Five Cuban anti-terrorist Heroes who suffer unjust and inhuman prison in US territory.
The Cuban Government and people deeply appreciate these gestures of firm support and solidarity by the international community.
