
Director General of UNESCO Sends Congratulations to Alicia Alonso.
CUBA, February 7th, 2011.- The Director General of the United Nation’s Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) Bulgarian Irina Bokova sent a congratulations message to prima ballerina assoluta Alicia Alonso for her 90 birthday and her work as an artist and founder of the Cuban National Ballet.
The Prensa Latina news agency reported that the text highlights Alonso’s talent in ballet, shown in her 60 year long career as a dancer, chorographer and company director.
It is a great honor that Doña Alicia Alonso, prima ballerina assoluta, is a UNESCO Good Will Ambassador”, said Bokova.
