Esteban Lazo Attends Reopening Ceremony of Grenadian Airport

CUBA, May 30, 2009. Cuban Vice President Esteban Lazo will travel to Grenada today to attend the reopening ceremony of the Maurice Bishop International airport, in the framework of the celebrations for the 65th anniversary of the birthday (May 29, 1944) of that outstanding Caribbean leader.

Maurice Bishop, a beloved friend of the Cuban Revolution, was the driving force behind the construction of the international airport in Grenada with Cuba assistance. The work is a proof of the historic friendly relations between our two peoples.

Vice President Lazo will hold talks with Grenadian government officials. He will also meet with Cuban professionals working in this sister nation and with members of solidarity with Cuba groups here.(Cubaminrex – Granma)
