Cuban Band Buena Fe’s Concert to Protest Libya Invasion.

Cuba, 31 March 2011.- The Cuban band “Buena Fe” will offer a concert on Saturday, April 2, at the University of Havana, to protest against the violent and imperialist military aggression against Libya.

The director of the band, Israel Rojas, told ACN that the concert will also honor the victims of the earthquake that recently devastated Japan.

Rojas noted that the meeting will take place the same day that the Fifth Congress of the Jose Marti Pioneer Organization (OPJM) begins, and two days before its 50 anniversary, that makes it one year older than the Young Communist League (UJC).

He also said that they will dedicate their songs to all pioneers and youths, but they will sing as well to all those people who created and boosted the UJC.

The guitarist of the band, Joel Martinez, pointed out that they have invited to the stage several artists that performed with them recently in the Karl Marx Theatre, in Havana, as well as other singers like Adrian Berazain.

Martinez reaffirmed that on Saturday they will meet with youths in order to demand the end of the armed aggression by the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), supported by the United States, France and the United Kingdom; and to honor the victims of the last March 11 earthquake in Japan.

According to the website of the band, “Buena Fe” was created in 1999, in the eastern province of Guantanamo, and it fuses pop-rock, alternative rock, and the new song movement.

The band has recorded seven albums since 2001, after the launching of its first album “Dejame entrar” and later on with “Arsenal”, “Corazonero”, “Presagios”, “Catalejo”, “Extremistas Nobles” and its latest production “PI 3.14”. (Cubaminrex-AIN)
