Friends of Cuba Meet in Laos
LAOS, Mar 18, 2010. - Laos' ethnical diversity has stressed on Thursday with the arrival to this capital of a mixed number of visitors who share a common friendship with Cuba. Delegates to attend the Fifth Asia-Pacific Regional Meeting of Solidarity with Cuba, started to arrive in today, and were given a warm welcome.
As well as historic relations of cooperation and sharing an ideological path, several Laotians have studied in Cuba and they keep a huge debt of gratitude with the Caribbean country and people.
Hence the level of detail in the organization of this event, supervised by Laotian Justice Minister Chaleun Yiapaoheu, also president of the Association of Friendship with Cuba.
Kenia Serrano, president of the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples (ICAP) praised such euphuism and devotion. She expressed gratitude for Yiapaoheu's support to hold this regional event.
During a talk with Laotians graduated in Cuba, Serrano was proud of greeting professionals, a palpable result of the Cuban solidarity to brother countries.
The official ratified that, despite media and economic aggressions, Cuba will defend its international commitment with peoples worldwide, beyond specific contingencies, as that taking place in Haiti after the earthquake.
Yiapaoheu also celebrated the 50th anniversary of the ICAP, considered a flag of victories of the Cuban Revolution. (Cubaminrex - Prensa Latina)
