Chilean Solidarity Groups to Honor Cuban Doctors.
CHILE, November 15, 2010.- The Chilean-Cuban Solidarity Movement will hold a ceremony to bid farewell to the Cuban doctors who assisted victims of February’s earthquake.
Solidarity groups in Chile underscored the selflessness of some 80 Cuban doctors who performed thousands of surgeries and provided specialized care in improvised hospitals set up in the central cities of Chillan and Rancagua.
They also praised Cuba's immediate response in the aftermath of the 8.8 magnitude quake and the services these Cuban doctors have provided since then to the Chilean people.
Rancagua’s authorities will present Cuban doctors, belonging to the Henry Reeve Medical Brigade, with the keys to the city of Rancagua.
Representatives of the Chilean Cuba Solidarity Movement living in Santiago de Chile will travel to Rancagua, about 90 miles south of the capital, to take part in the ceremony. (Cubaminrex-RHC)
