Colombia Readies Solidarity with Cuba Act       

CUBA, May 27, 2010.-  Colombian organizations of solidarity with Cuba are giving the final touches to an act in honor of the Cuban people, to be held Thursday at the Autonomous University of Colombia.

  The movement, comprising different organizations that support the Cuban social project, demand the end of the US blockade on the island for over five decades.

They also call for the discontinuation of a media campaign of lies against the Cuban people and government, as well as the release of the five Cuban anti-terrorists unfairly imprisoned in the US.

"This act is part of a series of actions we will carry out nationwide, as sign of our solidarity and brotherhood with the heroic, fighting people of Cuba, "said Victor Matiz, one of the organizers.

The popular act in Bogota is expected to be attended by academician Sergio de Zubiria Samper, and Cuban ambassador to Colombia Jorge Ivan Mora, with the performance of artistic groups. (Cubaminrex-PL)
