ANC celebrates its 99 anniversary and ratifies the solidarity with Cuba

SOUTH AFRICA, January 9th, 2011 .-The African National Congress (ANC) celebrated its 99th anniversary in a massive presided by the National Executive Committee of the organization and ratifying its mission to create a united, non-racial, non-sexist, democratic and prosperous society.

The president of the ANC and of the country Jacob Zuma delivered speech where highlighted the main challenges the party faces in the socio-economic and political field and also indicated the position regarding important issues of the international agenda. On the case of Cuba, Zuma ratified the support of the ANC to the Cuban campaign to end the economic blockade and also reiterated the call for the immediate and unconditional release of the Cuban Five.

The ANC prepares itself to celebrate its centenary in 2012 and a steering committee has been appointed to coordinate a variety of political, cultural and academic activities to take place in South Africa and in the rest of the world.
