Brazilian Deputies Express Solidarity with Cuba.
BRAZIL, June 29, 2011.- The President of the Brazilian Human Rights and Justice Commission from the Chamber of Deputies, Manuela de Avila, affirmed that there are two important violations of individual freedoms against Cuba -- the U.S. economic blockade and the unfair imprisonment of the Cuban Five.
The member of the parliament presented a motion approved by the commission that demands U.S. President Barack Obama end the blockade and immediately release the anti-terrorist fighters.
The Cuba-Brazil Parliamentary Front and the Brazilian Socialist Party organized the seminars on Cuban reality at the University of Brasilia and Leonel Brizola Foundation, from the Labor Democrat Party.
The works presented by Cuban participants focus mainly on the economic and social model approved by the Sixth Congress of the Cuban Communist Party. (Cubaminrex-RHC)
